THE WAY I DO: A VISUAL ESSAY BY LALIN VVA
VISUAL ESSAY BY LALIN VVA
1 MARCH 2026 — UNITED KINGDOM
This is a storyline built around what I love: who I am, my path, my connections, my relationships; what draws people in, the space, the image, the design.
Stop scrolling. Look at the details.
I have form, and I act. That is what inspires me.
This piece reflects my desire to stand for necessity. If you find a way to live truthfully, you are already making art. As we navigate our mental health, we practise community. It is about expression as an act of presence.
There was a time when many of us fell in love with the language of the garment. Those of us immersed in fashion, in this industry, in other forms of expression. Now it feels as though it has lost its pulse. When we trusted lyrics, when singing out loud felt like reading a seasonal map. Sometimes we kept a song on repeat while we carried on living.
So I ask: what is the context of the work today?
Do we truly care about what we are creating?
Is it about empathy? Are we contributing?
I love exploring content and creating it. At its simplest, it comes down to this: remain honest. It doesn’t try. It simply is.
At its core, my practice is about constructing atmospheres where body, ceremony, memory, and community coexist as lived experience, held within the image, within the canvas.
